AI in Strength & Conditioning: Hype vs. Reality

AI is everywhere in fitness technology right now. Every app claims to use machine learning, neural networks, or artificial intelligence to personalize training. Most of it is marketing.

At Forzelite, we take a different approach. Our AI is designed to assist coaches, not replace them. The system generates load recommendations based on an athlete's training history, recovery status, and progression patterns — but the coach always has the final say.

We call this 'transparent AI.' Every recommendation includes a rationale that the coach can inspect. If the system suggests reducing squat volume for an athlete, the coach can see exactly why: elevated RPE trend over 10 days, declining recovery scores, and a compliance drop in the last week.

The insight engine works the same way. When it surfaces a trend — like an athlete whose sleep quality has been declining for two weeks — it includes the data points behind the observation and a suggested action. The coach decides what to do with it.

AI in S&C should be a force multiplier for coaching expertise, not a black box. If you can't explain why the system made a recommendation, you shouldn't trust it.
